This week in sports:

JV and varsity volleyball played at home against Newsome on Tuesday. JV lost to Newsome 2-0. They lost the first and second sets 25-16 and 25-6. Their record is now 3-9. Jaxon Tumicki (9) was named Bloomingdale JV Volleyball Player of the Match.

Varsity beat Newsome 3-2. They lost the first set 25-20, lost the second set 25-16, won the last three sets 25-15, 25-20, and 15-13. Their record is now 6-10.

There was a swim meet at Academy of Holy Names(AHN) and Jesuit on Wednesday.

JV football played at home against Newsome on Thursday. They beat Newsome with a score of 3-6. Their record is now 3-1.

Varsity football played at East Bay on Friday. They beat East Bay 13-6. Their record is now 5-0.

The cross country team ran at the Flrunners.com Invite meet on Saturday at Holloway Park in Lakeland. The girls varsity team placed third overall with an average time of 24:00 and two of those girls were in the top 10 finishers of the race: Marissa Hagenbarth (11) placed first and Kelly McGinnis (10) placed third. The varsity boys placed second overall with an average time of 19:30 and two of those boys were in the top 10 finishers: Jon Owen (12) placed first and Connor Ludden (12) placed eighth. The JV boys placed 24th overall with an average time of 24:22.

The swim team participated in Western Conference on Saturday. They boys team got second place, and the girls team got third place.
